PAT LOAFMAN

BOTANIST

Patrick Loafman has been conducting research on wildlife and plants for over 33 years. His expertise is in botany, herpetology and spotted owls. For the past 15 years, he has been conducted inventory and monitoring research on plants of the Olympic, Lewis and Clark, Mount Rainier and North Cascades National Parks. He has written “The Flora of Washington’s Coast Range,” a book describing the 1,975 plant species of the area, complete with photographs and keys; he is currently seeking publication for this manuscript. From the research of this book, he has contributed nearly 400 photographs to the Burke Museum to document rare plants and range expansions of numerous species.
